which guages to buy where to mount
i am going to buy a pyrometer and boost guage for my truck. autometer and isspro are available and the isspro are cheaper. i prefer to mount these on the doorpost as i think this will be a neater installation. i would like advice on which guages are best and which installation other members prefer. thanks.is this an easy job to do or should i have it done for me?

I have my gagues omn my dash board. I want them in a pillar, but mine cost 90 bucks for tach pyro and boost and the mount. They werent name brand though. And on the pryo you have to take the manifold off and drill and tap it and make sure you get all the shaveings out. its got to be clean or youll mess up ur truck. So i had mine installed.

Mine are Isspro EV. did not want pillar or dash so I put them in single cups and mounted to the steering colum. I can see all dash gauges and speedo an fboost and pryo are in eye line

I've got the Isspro, my only complaint is the trans temp and pyro have a "module" that goes between the gauge and the sending unit (under the dash). IMO made it a little harder to install. But they work great and look good.

Mine are isspro my complaint is they are too dim and that they are on my rightside and i kinda swerve when lookin at them. i think i had add when it comes to drivein because i find the boost gague more important than the road

I got the auto meter z series and they match the factory gauges real well.Got a auto meter pillar pod from e-gauges.com that looks good for about 25 bucks. As for installation,the hardest part was tapping the manifold, its kinda a weird metal. I didn't bother to get all the shavings and haven't had any problems.

I agree with Caleb about the AutoMeter Z-series. Very easy to hook up. AutoMeter's pillar pod kinda sucks, they give you these plastic pegs to hold it to the pillar but they don't work well. I had to put a screw in one corner to make it secure. I don't recommend his pyro install method, I drilled and tapped for mine while I had the turbo off for other work.

Westach, I have two dual westach gauges and a boost gauge in a pod.
Westach= transmission temp
= oil temp
Westach= pyrometer
= cylinder head temp
Boost = 0-30 psi
I'm thinking about turning the oil temp into the rear temp. Heavy towing heats up the rearend significantly. The oil basically runs the same as the transmission when towing.
