timing?

Any definitive answer on any other parts/adjustments that need to be done when doing a spring, i cant find anything concrete about a timing adjustment or not, and if im in the pump far enough, perhaps now might be the time to do the fuel pin, Am I going to be in the same area, or is the pin harder to reach. I just wanna make the most out of my labor time put into the pump.

I usually loosen up the pump and retard it all the way for easier access when working. You can put it back on the match marks or bump it 1/8", your call. If you have a lot of fuel, more timing helps.

You will have the fuel pin out, but it's not like that's hard to get at later. I prefer to try to make one change at a time.

timing

I think what ill do is install the spring first, then install the pin second. I do like the idea of one change at time , to get the feel of what actually made the difference. is the fuel pin enough extra fuel to justify a timing bump. This truck is #1 a tow rig, #2 dd while i work on the benz. I need the power to hit the hills, but i cant sacrifice reliablity for "drag racing characteristics". Whats your thought on the timing given my usage? Also are there any o-rings/seals ill need to replace the spring and the fuel pin, gonna make 2 jobs out of it, so i may need double seals......Thanks in advance

I would keep the timing conservative. Just do the traditional 1/8" bump.

I have never needed any gaskets or seals when installing the 3200 RPM spring. Some people have reported leaky throttle shaft seals after the install, though.
