Got my Pyro, now need advice
Got my pyro today from NAPA, a Stewart Warner at the price of $300!!! Anyhoo, no boost yet as I already spent $600 on pyro, windshield, and fuel. Now I am willing to turn up my pump. Here is my EGTs so far: 275* idle, 600* at 60 mph, 750* at WOT (about 75 mph), 875* peak. This is a pre-turbo setup. I am looking for modest gains in power, but dont want to sacrifice mpg. A guy at work has a truck almost identical to mine (his is a 91 IC, 5sp) and claimed that with about 3/4 - 1 turn gave him more power and mpg. Is this true? From what I read once I turn this puppy up, I wont get enough.
Thanks,
dieseljon

The truck will only use as much fuel as your right foot says to. You should get the same mileage after turning the fuel screw in, and if you bump the timing you can even gain 1mpg or better.
BTW, where in NW IL are you? How far from the Quad Cities?
