Got the 3.5" boost tubes done, and alot more work done.......PICS

Well today I finaly finnished up the 3.5" boost tubes and got the truck back together enough to drive. The truck has WAY more power than it did before!!!

Here are pics of the charge pipes. Also I'll get better pics of the 2nd gen IC too. I had the end tanks redone with straight 3.5"ID tubing, so no more restrictive neck down on the ends. With the larger charge pipes and IC I can get 7psi now just holding about 2200rpm. Before I maybe saw 2psi. Also boost comes on etremely fast and hard now! I also have much less smoke driving normal, not sure why though. I finaly got the WG hooked up, but could only get the boost down to 45psi. I guess thats all the WG can let off?

Anyway, here are the pics. It took awhile but very worth it. Oh, almost forgot. With the stock IC and less fuel my EGT's would quickly peg the 1600* gauge. Now I cant get it over 1350* in 4th gear at WOT.

Interesting. What sized piping did you have before? Did you change intercoolers too?

He put in a 2nd gen intercooler it says. That sounds backwards to me. When I went to bigger pipe and bigger cooler I lost boost, but gained flow. But hey it sounds like it worked out for you. Now have you considered that your new found power may have came from the new lift pump thats in there?

Yes, its a 2nd gen IC that I had the end tanks cut off and redone to flow better. Before it just had the stock IC and piping. There is a huge difference in how fast it spools now. Plus the EGT drop of about 300* with more fuel than before. So over all well worth the $250 I have in the project. As responcive and cleaner running as it is now I'm willing to bet it will get better MPG too.

I'm sure most of the new found power is from the new DennyT II Pin and lift pump. Before after just a couple seconds my fuel psi would drop to -0-, but now it doesnt move. The big drop in EGT's and increase in air flow helped some too, but I still have a dark haze now at WOT. So there is still more fuel to burn and power to be made.

think you old system was a little leaky? I know mine was when I took it off and did the Powerstroke IC swap. Sadly I did many things at once like it seems you did, so no finger pointing to the single best mod.

No leaks on the old system, it was perfect. Not even a bent cooling fin.

I know I gained the ability to keep fueling, which added more power. The airflow side all I can say with certianty is I have much cooler EGT's while pushing more fuel and power. And boost/throttle responce is WAY quicker.

Its a sweet feeling rolling into the throttle in 3rd gear and smoking the tires, then shift into 4th at 60mph and light the tires up again. The speedo floats around 80mph spinning the tires before it finaly grabbed traction. Then pulled hard up to about 100. I def feel alot safer now only seeing 1350* and 45psi. Before it quickly pegged past 1600* and 52psi.
