My Getrag is right now took apart getting new guts.
I degreased and washed it off prior to taking it to the Getrag specialist.
I was all around the vent while cleaning and it is under a little round cap right by the shift-tower.
There is no hose.
There is simply a short tube >>maybe 3/8" tall and 1/4" diameter<< with a crimped on cap that sort of jiggles.
Hope this helps.

I'm not finding what you describe. I have a cup plug behind the shift tower.
This weekend I did some cleaning and seal replacement on the NP205 tranfer case and noted something interesting. It appears that mine vents (this might sound crazy, I'll try to post pictures) through the rear main bearings of the getrag, into the cavity around the output shaft, then into a drilled passage in the transfer case adapter which goes to atmospere by the shift rail on the NP205. There is nothing to prevent the hole (approximately 3/16") from being plugged by debris in an area where debris usually gets thrown. Mine was so obstructed I couldn't find it until I dropped the adapter in the solvent tank. I think modification will be required.
If anyone can verify my findings please post a reply.
