getrag swap complete
well, kinda....
finished my swap late last night. all in all it went well, i had no help so it was just me and a couple of jacks. lets just say that tranny is heavyyyy.
i had a problem with the clutch not disengaging i built a spacer for the slave cylinder almost 2" long!! not sure whats up... maybe air in the system??
when i first fired up the truck it just rattled
all i could think of is the tranny is junk, because i really don't know the history of the tranny. i also couldn't get it into gear!!
i drained the fluid put fresh stuff. the tranny seems to be figuring it self out.
it is quieter and shifting nice.
i really need to fix my boost leak. i just don't build boost im a 5-7lb guy
it is really noticable with the getrag.

cool.
I thought you said you drove the donor truck and it was fine???
5-7lbs at full throttle???? sounds like you have a big big boost leak somewhere, I'd start by replacing all the boots and meanwhile pressureize the I/c to see how bad its leaking, they all leak but 5-7lbs at WOT with a tweaked pump and fuel pin is rediculous, whats your egt's??
Did you put that 12.25 " clutch in it that was in the other truck???? or did you buy a new stock 13" clutch?? maybe the 5-7lbs of boost is keeping your clutch alive....
