Anyone who have done a getrag swap to a single cab 4x4...

Do you know if you need to shorten or lengthen your rear driveline

Your driveshafts from the 727 should be the same as a 5-speed. the one's that are different are the 518 shafts. I had a front shaft from a 5-speed truck in mine when I had the 727 and they were the exact same length.

sweet. I'm getting tired of trying to deal with all the BS for a 47rh swap. I might just do a getrag instead.

Nv4500 is longer. Either way you're gonna need a 29 spline np205 from behind a getrag.

Papecat, you had a 727 but its 2wd so the tailshaft is long. 4wd trans are shorter so the t-case isn't far behind

Are all the front axle to transfer case driveshafts the same length - 727 -518 - Getrag or is the 518 a different length?

Getrag and 727 are the same. 518 is longer so both shafts would need to be redone

So putting a nv-4500 where a 727 was in a 4 wheel drive truck - the 'shafts will be wrong as the nv-4500 is longer. Could I use a 518 front shaft as those are longer than the 727 ones?
