gauges installed, wonder if EGT is wrong......
This is my first time to have an EGT but I have read alot on what you guys are reading. My numbers seem kinda low, but maybe one of you guys could tell me if it sounds right or not.
Cruising 65mph on flat ground EGT reads 540*, going up a slight hill it reads 600*.
On a 0-100 run EGT got its highest in 5th gear and only hit 960*. I was figuring on a little higher, but low is good if its right.
Boost levels off at 28-30psi, and I need to get rid of the turbo bark. HTT III maybe?
The probe is preturbo and all the gauges I got are Stewart Warner.
I also was challenged by 2 kids at a red light, one in a F150 and the other in a new ecsb Z71. Umm, we didnt race but we saw who could get from the red light up to the legal speed limit. I had the Z71 by about 4 truck lengths and the F150 by 2. That was 0-50. This old hunk of metal and black smoke surprised them. lol

With what in my signature. 0-90 @ 32psi I can hit 1150*- 1200*. Crusing @ 65 I'm around 600-700* but nothings flat around here. If you can get your hands on one, it wouldn't hurt to try another gauge.

I'd say it's a little low (no more than 50-75deg), but your signature also says it doesnt rattle, which will normally indicate a little more efficient engine.
You also have some good air in/ exhaust out upgrades, plus some extra timing. Just keep an eye on your intake hose with the K&N filter- I've had them let in more dust than a front door screen. With a pickup bed on the truck in my signature, I run about 600-650deg/ 3-5psi at 65mph, and I have a dually, so yours isnt too far from mine.

if they seem low take the probe out and put a spacer between probe and manifold so it reads the air flow it could be touchin the bottom of the manifold and not gettin a correct reading! goodluck

its pretty nice. i'm suprised the boost is only 3-4psi higher than the 21cm though. Cruise boost at 65 is right at 5psi too. It has no trouble getting sideways through second and halfway through third. Then a nice churp into 4th. The turbo whistle is louder too. I havent lined up with a kid in a truck around town yet that has beat me 0-60. lol I'm too old for that stuff, NOT.

I've got a 3200 spring and a 3800 spring already, just havent put on in yet. I may get the 3200 in, max out the fuel screw near the point of run away, and try out an 1/8th mile track. Then HTT III and injectors and try it again.

Nope, its in the exhaust manifold before the turbo. Its reading from the 1-2-3 cylinders because there the ones that run the highest drive pressure. At least I think because the WG is more toward 4-5-6. I did cross drill it with a 3/4" holesaw though.

Could the EGT's just be that low? Idle is around 270*.
This sux, I though adding gauges was supposed to take some of the guess work out but I now I'm stuck guessing if there right. Screw it, I'm just going to assume there right and if it melts down it melts down.
