fun little project

picked up a dash bezel from a guy local to me for $10!! thought i'd do a little something with it. thought about painting it. as you can see in the pic, i've pretty much taped off all of the black except for a couple places i thought would be interesting to leave to be painted.

i was thinking of going with a flat or semi gloss white. it's not adding any color of course, but just trying to go for looks inside. any suggestions of colors or any other ideas for designs?

i've thought about painting all the black on mine the same color as the interior or the outside of the truck

well i decided against white and went with a silver aluminum i had. turned out looking pretty good actually. leaving some parts black was a good idea. the colors contrast well together. just waiting for a coat of clear. the picture's a little large. sorry.

Sure, rub it in. Look over to the far right of the picture. He has oranges on a tree. I have a blizzard outside.

i'd be glad to post more pictures for you richie i love that orange tree! it's been there since we moved in back in '90. we usually pick the tree clean once a year and juice them. we end up with about 7 or 8 gallons maybe more of orange juice. and it's good too!! not too tart and not too sweet.

well i got the dash insert swapped. you wouldn't believe how much newer the interior looks. that wood grain trim just made things look old inside. i'll take a pic tomorrow. the silver was a good color to go with by the way.

only problem now is my message center lights aren't working. and of course, they were yesterday. that's electrical for ya tho . anyway, well i'm gonna take things apart again tomorrow and try some electrical contact cleaner on the circuit board on the backside. hope that works. i'd like to know if and when my anti-lock's messed up in the future and just to have everything working properly. i'm picky i know

i sure hope the plug's the only reason. i've got other electrical issues i need to TRY, again TRY to tackle. i wish i understood it a lot better. anyway i'll take some pics of the dash tomorrow. it really brightens things up inside.

He is in Orange County.

Hey jimbo486 where in Orange County are you?
I am in Los Angeles County just over the hill where the air is brown but at least it is warm.
