Full throttle stop

Full throttle stop
Beautiful day so I thought I'd check some stuff on my 91. I held the throttle to the floor with a pole to check full travel. Nope, not hitting the stop. So while I had it apart I thought I'd back the full throttle stop out and see how much travel it had. Wow, goes all the way to the boss. I moved the link to the inner hole and adjusted it to run full travel now. I hope I don't brake something. Probably be the G rag first.

did you see if youre getting full throttle travel while using the gas pedal? i had to put a spacer between the pedal and the cable to get full travel from inside of the cab.

I usually take the screw out,
a 91 non i/c truck we had with no overdrive and 3.07 gears would do 98 mph gps verified with stock governor spring and that screw backed all the way out. awesomeness

Yes, on my 92 it did hit the stop. I'm holding off on adjustments on it until I can at least adjust the bands on the 518.

I took my high idle screw out, put the linkage on the inside hole, put spacers behind the pedal and also took the pedal off, heated it up with a torch and bent it up a little so I could get full travel. Makes a big difference. But I think when i did this it screwd up my TPS after awhile because it traveled too far and when i took my TPS apart, the plastic was all stripped out inside and you could tell how far it was traveling, but it was a simple solution, POT controller!

I did the same thing with my throttle, and when mine started screwing up the tps i took it off and looked at the bottom and you can see where it has a stop made in to the bracket, i just used a file and made it where it would travel what it needed to and i can still use my tps, but the pot does sound like an addition i'm going to do one day.
