Fuel shutoff solenoid acting wierd
Hey all,
Earlier in the week my fuel shutoff solenoid starting acting up. It didn't cut the truck off, then a few minutes later the truck cut off. It never worked again, I always had to use the STOP lever. Testing voltage at the solenoid showed it was 12V with ignition on and 0V with it off. After I removed it, I applied voltage to test it and it worked. The rubber plunger appears intact. I am not sure if the solenoid is acting intermittantly? Or if there is a problem with the pump?

I'll admit this has me baffled. The plunger is OK (no chunks missing? Just nice smooth rubber?) and there is no voltage at the solenoid with the key off, so it should work fine. Was there any trash in the hole that the plunger might be hanging up on?

have you tested your wiring for continuity(sp)?
It almost sounds like a power issue , not receiving power to the solenoid, then receiving it...
check the wiring and clean all teh connections and such. Probably wont solve it, but why not try the easy things first?
