Fuel pump maintenance
When I first got my D250, about 100,000 miles ago, I could get into the throttle and really pour the smoke.. that is, when I got into the throttle hard and before the turbo spooled up good, it would put out a cloud of black smoke... and then clear up. There has not been anything done to the IP that I am aware of. Now, when I get on the throttle, it takes off good, but there is no smoke, hardly at all. No tach, no pyro, no boost (yet). I am just wondering if there is a regular or scheduled maintenance that needs to be performed on the IP or the turbo. To me, a stock engine that turns up ok without a lot of smoke should be good. Or not?? I think gauges will tell me a lot....
