Fuel leaking from water seperator

I have searched this for a while and not found an answer. Now that the weather is cooler I have fuel leaking from the seperator. It stops when the truck warms up. What do I need to replace to fix it?

Searching the sticky is the place to be, my friend...

Yes... or eliminate it if you think your truck doesn't need heated fuel. There is also a "fuel heater delete" nipple available from Geno's as well.

Geno's garage has the parts either way you wish to proceed.

BTW

Search FS1221. I've changed mine since I've owned these trucks, and it's a much cleaner /easier setup than that sensor.

Thanks...

It looks like the fuel is coming out of the purge nipple. Is that where the preheater leaks?

Generally not.

The preheater usually leaks up higher than that, although it can look as though it's leaking from the nipple if it drains down the back of the filter and runs off at the lowest point.

Genos sells the replacement parts if you want to replace the OE, but personally I like the fs1221

i scrapped that thing and went with a baldwin fuel filter. you can still drain the water from the baldwin filter and i havent had one leak. its a much better design imo

Great, thanks guys. I use to be able to stop the drip by opening the plunger on the bottom. Now it does not stop.

The WIF sensor and drain valve are an assembly. Not very expensive. (Geno's) If you don't think you need WIF warning, you can use the filter with the drain built in and just leave the WIF connector hanging.
