Fuel goes in really slow

Ever since I've got my truck when I fill up with fuel I can't set the nozzle and go away I have to sit there and baby it and let it go in real slow. I made a rubber hose extension for my air compressor nozzle and tried blowing down the little vent hole in the side of the filler neck (thinking it was plugged up) and that did nothing.

Is there a big check ball or something down at the base of the fill neck?

This is an annoying problem, takes me forever to fill the truck with fuel. And if it's a truck stop and has a big nozzle, forget about it you'll be there all day.

Thanks
Brandon

There is a anti spion ball at the bottom of the filler neck mine broke and was rolling around the tank when i did my fuel sump.

I think you have a vent issue my 2010 takes forever to fill up to due to a poor vent design

Yea, it's the rollover green ball!

If u want to delete it, remove the 4 screws holding the fuel neck bezel, then the 2 clamps nearest the bedside (1 large filler, 1 small vent).

Take that puppy to the workbench, and preform surgery.

Yea, and it's getting cold. Also, something about hearing fluid flowing makes you want to fill your tank and empty your other tank if you know what i mean.

When I took mine apart, I found what looked like saran wrap wrapped around the ball. I think someone plugged the fuel nozzle at the pump and the ball caught it when I filled up.

So the ball could be causing the restriction.

It also foams up a lot when I'm filling it,

Bed is coming off within the next few months, I'll take care of the issue then.

I believe that is a result of something in the ULSD refining, I have noticed much more foam since the changeover.

i had this same problem when i bought my truck and it got even worse it seemed like when i put the flatbed on. So I took the flow tube off and took that little green ball out and threw it a away... solved my problem!!! so you might take it out and see if it fixes yours.
