Front Spring Perch: Weld or Replace?

Front Spring Perch: Weld or Replace?
The bolt holes in the left front spring perch are oblonged almost 1/4", & I would like to correct it. I thought of welding a couple washers on it, but a buddy of mine said to replace it if possible by bolting it on with Gr. 10 bolts, because welds will likely crack. Which would be preferable, or is there an alternative I'm not aware of? Thanks for any help (again).

I would bolt them on over weld them. we are in the process of lifting an '85 1/2 ton 8". and we just bought some new grade 8 bolts when we bolted on new spring hangers.
I have been known to weld washers over oblonged holes , such as on loader arms or machinery pivots, but with the trucks, its just easier to bolt a new one on with good bolts.

ive gotten replacement perches from pick a part, using a sawzall with a wood blade cutting slow will keep the blade sharp, my front was torn out of the truck, I went to a bolt place here in Hesperia for larger high grade serrated bolts, redrilled tight, and impacted them on, still rockin 200k miles later.

They are a one pc design & bolt in with grade 8 bolts & all metal lock nuts.
