front mounted hitch for a '92
Has anyone put a 2" receiver hitch to the front of the '92 Dodge? Is there a hitch available for this application?<br><br>Thanks for the help<br><br>Gary

I just bought anough 2" I.D. and cut, stacked and welded them together and welded to the cross piece under the front end. Comes out perfect, just under the bumper. Drill a hole for a pin and your set. Works great.

Mark<br><br>Thanks for the info. I was thinkin about the same thing. There are two pieces of metal that run across the frame just in back of the bumper. I was thinkin about welding two pieces for square tubeing to a 2" recei.ver bar. How much did you have to drop the receiver to pass the bumper

midwestdually<br><br>Everyone has different reasons but mine is to come off the receiver with a "T" mount to support a canoe. I can't go off the back because I pull a fifth wheel. There are all kinds of accessories you can put up front. <br>Of course you haven't lived until you pull your boat at 65mph in reverse. LOL <br><br>Gary<br>

also seen it done on old 'lot lizzard' trucks, easier to put trailers into tight spaces when you're going forward looking at it

Mark<br><br>Yep that's what I did. Put er on yesterday. I U bolted it to the two cross members just behind the bumper. Should work out fine. Thanks again for the info.<br><br>Gary
