This is what I was thinking too. Sure the tend to spin a little with everthing unlocked but shouldn't be spinning fast enough to vibrate.
On to the advice portion. When you lifted the truck you should have ground out the stops in the double cardon area to allow more travel. Did you do this? If not get the lift instructions back out they will probably a nice description and diagram of what needs to be ground. If nothing else is broken in the driveshaft put it back together keep the hubs unlocked and tcase in 2wd when you don't need 4wd and the DS will last just fine. I've run them at far worse angles than you get out a 4" lift Dodge without major issues.

On my '85 crew with 6 inches of lift, I had to grind clearance for the upper double u joints to spin freely.
Otherwise they would just push themselves apart in no time flat.

I started leaving my hubs locked after I had to have a 5 year old front axle rebuilt 25 or so years ago. Locking your hubs once in a while for a few miles doesn't keep them lubricated. It also doesn't stop your drive shaft from sitting in one spot all the time and beating the splines to death. I've had a lot fewer problems sense I started leaving them locked. And no, I haven't seen any difference in fuel mileage or performance.

I rebuilt my stock double cardan joint. The hard part was melting the plastic cap retainers out. Went back together easy and should be good for another 100k. In total it cost me about $100 for the parts (Moog Heavy Duty) at my local parts store. Took me about an hour to replace all 3 joints. Good luck

To cougar: driving with the hubs locked is beneficial to the truck? I'm leaving my front drive shaft out for now... not like it matters much, since I haven't been driving the truck.
Checked all my fluids and everything was good, added roughly a pint to her, but need to change my oil soon anyways. But with the engine running, I pulled the cap to my oil fill and I can hear a pinging noise. Blowby, fuel bubbling up from the injectors. Problems that I didn't have before starting to do 200+ miles a day for work. Except for the blowby... there was light blowby when I purchased the truck but now it seems excessive. Since I purchased the truck in August of last year I've put roughly... 18k? miles on it, did not have a working odometer until a few months ago. But with roughly 500k miles and no records of a rebuilt motor there's not much I can say about it.
Thanks for all of the input guys, very much appreciated.
