Front brakes D-250 question

My front rotors shake the whole truck pretty hard sometimes, so I'm gonna pull 'em off and have them turned...I hope...assuming there's plenty there to turn. First time I've had the brakes off this truck, but why is it that you gotta take the brake line off the caliper to get the caliper off? Seems kinda silly to me...unless there's a trick, but I sure see no other way. The bolt backs out into the block that bolts to the caliper. Hmmm...

Hey Mark, you're not the only one!

The caliper is removed by removing the two bolts that face up (1/2" head, at each end of the caliper), not by pulling the whole caliper and braket assembly off the truck.

D'OH!!! Well, now I can't wait to see this when I get home from work. I feel better now, I just really hate bleeding brakes, haha! Thanks wanna!

Well at least it wasn't just me! still kick myself for that one a little bit... while we are on the subject, since i took the bolts i wasn't supposed to is there a TQ rating i need to go by, i don't think they are tight enough... if i go in reverse and brake then foward and brake i sometimes get a "clunk" especially if i hit them really hard, thought maybe those bolts weren't tight enough...

There is more than one Mark on this forum. What does the good book have to say about wisdom and silence?

Torque on those bolts should be 160 ft. lbs.

The bolts for the caliper hold down clips are 160ft.lbs? Seems like alot of torque for those little things

No, the bolts that hold the caliper bracket to the spindle are 160 ft. lbs. The caliper hold down bolts are only 200 in. lbs.
