found you 1st Gen. boys a nice one!
thought I'd let ya'll know a buddy of mine has for sale a 92'/93'??? (not sure which one but for sure one or the other),W-250 ext. cab longbed 5 spd. 4x4 LE 3:55 gears hunter green w/ gray interior power everything, with only 80,XXX miles, think he said he was gonna ask around $14,000 for it , but might take a little less, not sure, as far as I can tell the truck is nearly perfect, never been bombed, completely virgin pump, has a gooseneck ball, but it's not been pulled to death by any means, PM me if anyone is interested & I'll get you his name & number.

Prices
Hey in California anything in decent condition is getting top dollar. In 1999 when I got mine I searched all over and was willing to drive 1000 miles to get it but if I found anything at all it was pretty much trashed or it was from the east coast and was rusted out.
I wasn't too picky, it only HAD to be a DODGE, be a DUALLY, have a CUMMINS, and be early body style.
After I had totaled my last truck, It took me about a month to find mine and it was luck. I had to drive about 80 miles and I paid $14,000 cash for it. It was not in half as good of condition as I have it now, I got is from an older pinhead and he towed his custom rod all over the country to shows with it.
When I saw it I just knew this was the one.
Since then I have put over $10,000 dollars in it to make it the way I want.
I could not even begin to imaginge how much I have spent on diesel fuel for it. [IMG] [/IMG]

Jim - I went through the same garbage when I was looking for my truck. Around here, you can't touch a 1st Gen CTD for book value - even the junkers were going for $8-9k when I was looking. I ended up paying $10k for my '92 with 47k miles.
Heck, I've seen 2nd Gen trucks with 200k miles going for $14k around here....

got mine for $1 102k mint condition, but i really don't think from the family counts! after i got it i looked around to see what others were getting and i really didn't see anything under 9k-10k. i've seen some lower.... reg cab, long bed, 170xxx miles, little beat up for like $2100 or so but for something in good condition people seem to be asking close to what you'd give for a second gen.

Think what our trucks will go for in about 40 years from now?
Since they are the early model and the first of the cummins powered hopefully they will be like the 60's AC Cobra's, Shelby's, Cuda 440 Six Pack and other good heavy metal.
Jim.
