Found the culprit thanks to this site!

Thanks to the info posted in the sticky, just have to order the gears in the morning.

good luck, a year from now they will go bad again. been there done that...we put used good gears in....2 months later they broke.....then put brand new ones in from that site....reset it like 4 months later while STOPPED and fueling up....stopped working.

find a 93 cluster with the redesigned gearbox and get a screwdriver, reset the miles. stick it in and call it a day

as long as you dont use the reset it will last a long time pushing the reset button will make the gear spin almost as fast as nobamas budget #s and will break
