Every solid axle front end truck i have owned will get water in the front diff when under water for any amount of time, doesnt matter how new the seals are.
Pretty standard to dump fluids in front end atleast aswell as check bearings and hubs as mentioned.
Trans/tcase/rear diff. rarely get water in them though.

For that amount of time your axles were underwater, I would bet a small amount of water got in your diff and hubs. If not removed the water will find a way later, a month or year later, to the metal parts. Water has a way of penetrating the seals and getting sucked into the inside of the axles and hubs as a result of the inside vacuum created by the rapid cooling of a hot axle that is suddenly submerged in cool water.

now I'm getting the feeling like the steering is binding a bit too
all of these items will be addressed, I have to tow my 3-ton boat & trailer 120 miles on Saturday and don't want any problems

pics of what? I drove the truck through fresh rainwater, didn't hit anything so there's nothing to "see" other than the truck (below)
I'll take some pics of the fluids if any contamination is found

bumper mfd by REUNEL in Maxwell, CA...about $1,400 (+shipping) IIRC
that bumper would put a serious hurt on any car or SUV that comes into contact with it

Deep water fording.
With a few odds and ends and a couple of what-nots, you can go almost anywhere.
Its got to feel weird when your underwear fills with cold water.
Check how he clears his windows.
Crazy..

now that crossy's son has posted the suggestion to clear the vents I'm going to get that done too...it's the only possible explanation for the fact that there wasn't any water in the diffs (since both of these vents would have been underwater)
for some reason, the Cummins Fleetguard fuel filter wasn't shipped with a new O-ring so the old compressed ring had to be re-employed until a replacement arrived. dang thing is leaking like a sieve under pressure...good thing I like the smell of #2
