Fluid Damper info needed...
I'm looking to buy a fluid Damper for my 89 motor. I'm looking at the 960311 model, but it lists it for the 92-98 12V. I don't believe that there is any major differences between the 89-91 vs 92-98 balancers but wanted to double check before I placed my order.

non IC balancers are smaller than IC balancers. Also IC balancers have the notches for the crank sensor.
I believe the difference is 6" dia on non IC and 8" dia on IC. Not positive on the actual size though.
At the very least you will need a longer belt.

Just went out and measured my balancer on my 89 Non-IC motor....it's a 8" unit.

Just placed my order at Xtreme diesel performance...they had a 10% off sale going on, as well as one of the best prices I could find...so out the door $420!! Can't wait!!
I will definitely give an update of what I find...and feel.

If your mess responds like mind did you'll find it rather nice. It'll be kinda weird winding it up. Smooth weird.
I got a large, 1/8" thick washer and enlarged the hole to fit the fan clutche's threaded mounting stud. There's still plenty of thread to properly/safely engage the fan clutch. Without the washer/spacer, the trailing edge of the fan blades just "kiss" the damper on their way by.
