Hi Dave

yeah when I shut the key off everything goes down but the engine. She just keeps on keepin on.

Now that being said I shot some wd up into the solenoid and the plunger and cleaned it up pretty well. There really wasn't much of a problem it was pretty clean. Oh the plunger always worked smoothly and easily. I cut those two connectors off and connected them with a ring connector and replaced it on the top of the solenoid. When I first started er up she ran a little funny but straightened herself out and ran fine. I took er on the road and she runs strong. I did some runnin around and shut er down 4 times without a problem. She also started without any problems. Maybe it was the connections or maybe just a tad of ***** in the solenoid but it seems to be fine.

Anyway the acid test is next week.

My solenoid is inop for now. I noticed it chugged and sputtered a lot (relatively, as it had a new pump from this spring, and injectors in May; fuel pressure is good at 7psi idle) when I started it this morning. I ran some errands, and brought it back home. Took a second after turning off the key for it to shut down. (It had been doing this intermittently for a few weeks now. I figured it was just an electircla gremlin). Got home this evening, and it wouldnt shut off. Could a piece of the rubber plunger have gotten broken off and into the pump internals? How bad is this? I wouldnt think rubber would affect 10K psi, but then again, the clearances are real tight in there.

Apparently the rubber does not cause any harm to us...Ive sent rubber through it twice now! Fortunately I was able to sand this one into shape cause the last one took such a large chunk that I could not fix it. Give this ol post a shot, you may luck out.

I'll try that. I borrowed some wrenches, and will do it tonight. I just have to find a fuel return line for under $80 now....... Mine split in half over lunch hour.

You can patch it with hose. There's no pressure to speak of, and as long as your fix keeps air out the truck will run fine.

Well just got back a couple of hours ago and after I took the plunger out and cleaned the solenoid and plunger not a problem in 700 miles. She ran, started and shutoff fine all week. Must have been just a bit of ***** in it.

Now for the age old question........how to get my egt's down.

You need more air. Try a compressor upgrade.

hi Wanadiesel

Yep I wrote ya just a minute or two ago. I think I'm ready to put one in. Where do ya get em and what kinda difference will it make? I can get 20 psi out of my setup now wot. I have plenty of peddle left I just run out of egt's. What do ya figure it will drop the egt's? Also will it whistle louder than the one I have in now?

Thanks

I tried finding a hose or adaptor to fit the metric fitting in the pump. No dice. I called the local Internation Truck dealer and they got it for me for $45, freight included.
