I fully agree. I am going to keep my first gen going as long as I can. It is in good shape as the old man who I bought it from was the original owner and he kept in in a garage it's whole life and never pulled a trailer with it. I shoulda kept my 92' W350 that I sold a couple months ago for a measly $4500. A lot of you told me to keep it but I wouldn't listen it did need some serious body work but she still had a lot of life left in er. I sold it to a friend who is fixing it up well but I still wish I'd a kept it, went through a lot with it....................

[QUOTE=johnny5.9
The new trucks, as nice as they are, are lacking. I looked at a mega cab a couple days ago. What a joke, the seats are pathetic. Sure, they're big but the comfort is terrible they feel like boards with a little foam on them. And they expect me to pay $45000 for one?[/QUOTE] ....
I didn't know that about the newer ones. I bought mine because I could afford it, I preferred the appearance of the square front, and I like the much-criticized rattle of those old non-computerized CTDs. I'll like mine even better if I ever get those valves adjusted ...

I'll keep mine until old man time does me in or an unfortunate mishap with a train or a semi makes it hard to drive.

what about parts?

My only concern is getting parts for these trucks in another few years if you launch something major when you are on the road.It would be like getting parts for the Charger out on the road.

That's the beauty of the Cummins, industrial and military engines will always have parts avalilable! As for the rest of the truck, the NV4500's are everywhere, as are the axles and stuff. Most of the body parts are available also, but not all.....
