First Gen TPS help please

I am getting closer to installing my E40D automatic and now I need to come up with a TPS, Can someone tell me if I only need the TPS or is there some other brackets or anything else I would need? FYI My Engine was from a manual trans. Also where is the best place to get this stuff?

TIA

You need a bracket and a TPS. The TPS is easy, Dodge and NAPA can both get you that. The bracket is going to be harder. Maybe somebody who converted from an auto to a stick has one.

My other truck is a f250 with a 460 and a e4od and would not reccomend that to anyone that ever plans on having very much power or towing at all. That is what all the early powerstrokes had behind them and they were lucky to last 50 to 60k with a tow rig But if you have someone build it correctly it may last a while but will never be stronger than a built A518. The e4od also is a lockup converter trans you will need more than just a tps to get that working.

Im not worried one bit about the E40D handeling the Power, Ever hear of Maddog? He has around 1000hp with an E40D. If built right the E40D will handle the power. I have a 550+HP PowerStroke with an E40D and it works just fine. I also know it takes a Stand alone Computer to run the Transmission and I have that already. Its called a Baumminator made by Baummin engineering.

I Am A http://www.brianstruckshop.com/ Dealer and Brian can and does build the E40D and 4R100 to handle the power.

Hey Dave, Thanks for the info. Do you think the bracket is available from Cummins?
I have a 96 12 Valver that was an Auto but I am pretty sure the TPS and bracket are different. I may be able to make a bracket if I knew what it looked like.

I doubt the bracket was a Cummins part. The 2nd gen setup is totally different. Maybe somebody with a pic in their gallery will post it?
