I'm a big fan of saving your pennies and getting it done right the 1st time. It makes it that much sweeter when you feel everything working the way its supposed to.

Well I sometimes like do things just once, but yet I'm the kind of guy that likes to see how much difference something made. It would be kinda cool to see what difference a 47rh is over a 518 and then the difference a built 47rh is from that. I'm thinkin I want to put it in, I mean it still has life in it so might as well get what i can out of it. Plus it would be a good learning experience to get this all done cuz it'll be that much easier the 2nd time i do it and so on.

I'm thinkin I probably will, probably in another month or so when i get everything gathered up. But how do i hook up a lockup switch? and is it okay to keep it locked up most the time? and I should be okay to run the OD with my POT controller right?

Sweet, my buddy was thinkin about puttin a 4bt in his 87 chevy and was wonderin if my tranny would work with it and he said to hold on to it so maybe i can sell it to him.

you can hook it up either to a switch or pressure switches. a stock 47rh will only lock up in OD. There are descriptions of how to do each in the sticky.
