Finally - back on the road!

Just took the CTD for about a 10 mile drive to my sisters and back. Much nicer ride than before I replaced the axles, springs, shocks and tires and rebuilt all of the brakes. The ride is quiet, even when hitting a manhole cover or pothole. 4WD works now that both axles are the same ratio. I need to get out on some dirt or sand and see how the rear Power Lock and front Track Lock work together. Brakes are nice and tight, and the parking brakes work now, too (new rear cables), but I did have the brake warning light come on once or twice while sitting at a light. I think I have a bad vacuum hose or booster.

The ride is a little bouncy. I attribute some of that to the taller, softer tires (Dunlop Radial Rover RVXT 255/85R16). I only have them inflated to about 55PSI (max is 65PSI). I'll try a little more air and see how they are, but I think the Monroe Gas Magnum shocks are just too soft. I also don't like that fact that they only give me about 2" of downward travel (less than the springs would allow without shocks by at least and inch or two). I might look into some ProComp 3000's or 9000's, or Rancho 9000's, with a couple more inches of travel.

Now that all the suspension and road noise are gone, I hear all kinds of new noises. Guess I'll have to sort them out, next.

Here's all that I did ;

1) Replaced 4.10:1 rear Dana 70 with a 3.54:1 Dana 70. Both P/L axles.
2) Rebuilt rear drum brakes (new drums, 3" shoes, new cylinders, new parking brake cables)
3) Rebuilt front and rear springs. Ground down sharp ends and divots, added Delrin spring liner between each leaf. For front I used the top 1 ton leaf and leaves 2 - 6 from a set of 4" lift 1/2 - 3/4 ton springs that were on another truck I parted out. For rear, I used the top 1 ton leaf and a combination of other leaves I have from the 1/2 ton and a 3/4 ton. Added 1 extra leaf between #2 and #3 and another at the bottom of the stack.
4) Added overload springs and brackets from my 3/4 ton to this truck.
5) New tires - Dunlop Radial Rover RVXT 255/85R16 (33"x10")on American Racing Outlaw II wheels. Picked up some new center caps, too.
6) Replaced front 4.10:1 Dana 60 with Selcto hubs with a 3.54:1 Dana 60 from a '92 CTD. Added a Track Lock to the center section, replaced the king pin bushings and bearings and rebuilt the brakes with new rotors. Upgraded outer stub shafts to 35 spline with Dana u-joints and MileMarker 35 spline internal locking hubs.
7) New tie rod ends and drag link.
8) Added front sway bar
9) 9/16" studs and lugs all around.

It is a single wheel?

Do you have the p/n for the rear 9/16 studs?

Sounds like quite an overhaul.

Sorry - I replaced the studs a long time ago, before I even got the CTD. I got them at Napa, though.
