My fuel gauge is not working and I have tracked the problem down to the fuel sending unit. My problem is that the dodge dealer told me that the fuel sending unit has been discontinued. I have looked all over the internet for a fuel sending unit and cannot find one. If anyone has had this problem I would appreciate knowing what can make the fuel gauge work. I have a 1989 dodge turbo cummins diesel. Also, if anyone has a working or not working sending unit let me know if you want to sell it.

I'm sure the 1st gen boys will be along in a few minutes to help you find the part you need. More than likely they are finishing up dishes after dinner or giving the kids a bath.

Sounds like you might need to get creative either looking for a stock replacement or fabbing an after market sending unit to fit.

 

You have tried NAPA and Auto Zone etc. right ? R C

 

Napa has a universal gauge and sending unit, it can be easily adapted, it comes in a set, so just put the gauge away unless you want to use it. I believe was 35 bucks, i just got one for my tractor.
