Fan clutch best Source?Brand

I searched for the best brand to get, but never could find the best.

Tried a Autozone special, turned out to a POS. It was worse than the used one from the factory. Rockauto carries the same part number under a different name, so I don't want to try one from them.

Any suggestions.

I know you can always go to the dealer and get the updated fan and clutch. I am currently using a Haynes heavy duty from NAPA.

Is the updated one from dodge the one that fits newer models? I read they have a lower lock up temp.

Maybe someone else can chime in on that one.

I heard it locks at lower temps as well, but I haven't seen it. When I tried to order one, they weren't able to get one in for weeks so off to napa I went. It works great. I was always annoyed with my stock fan with all the noise it made all the time. But I found out that a new clutch allowed it to freewheel when cold or on the hiway when not needed and it lowered the DB in the cab substantially.

Like the steel-belted radial tire, I don't think they can build a genuine good fan-clutch that actually works when it should.

When the local NAPA Car Care Center over-hauled the A/C in the wife's truck, they installed THREE different brand-new NAPA fan-clutches and EVERY ONE of them were junk.

When they called me and asked if I could possibly find a clutch that would work better, as the A/C would not perform with a bad fan-clutch, I said "YEAH, I think I can take care of that."

I took the old "bad" clutch home, done my little "clutch pinning" trick, and problem solved.

You had the same problem I had I belive. The new autozone clutch made it runner hotter than ever. Tried running the a/c and the head pressure was so high it blew the rupture disk out of the dryer, the brand new dryer.

Pinged it with a hammer but is now coming apart I belive.
