Exaust brake Q's

Anybody put an exaust brake on a first gen with an auto??? I know the exaust valve springs would need changed but not sure what or where to look.

I'm by no means an expert, nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn Express last nite.

I never really thought about it, but the info about our non-lockup converters being basically a one way connection makes sense to me!

People do it, but the effect is kinda like rolling down the window and sticking our hand out to slow you down. The only thing it will do is make alot of heat in the trans without really slowing you down at all.

You'd need to have a 47RH with a special valvebody that allows you to lock the converter when it's manually downshifted, otherwise you couldn't take full advantage of an exhaust brake.
