Looks like it's about 1150lbs for the engine (dry)

Come on now, just imagine the truck with 2 fat guys on the front end... It still drives fine, right?

(Actually, I think that the VW truck might need some beefments in the front suspension department...)

actually... here was 1600# last week (84" Bobcat Combo Bucket + extra cutting edges and rippers) (I added a $5 'helper leaf' from an S-10 blazer)

80 mile trip, so I did it in 'after midnight' to keep a low profile and in the rain so tires would stay cool @ 75 mph, just started snowing on way up the hill ~ 1mile from home

here is Roger's VW with a 1200# milling machine

You just gotta keep the front wheels down and you be fine....It might trun like a boat, and not want to stop. But that dosen't matter.

I have done some really heavy loads with it. Out of all the rabbit truck i have seen this one is the only one with 4 leaf springs. I have heard of mods and want to do it some day. I take pictures of my heavy and impressive loads. Me and my buddy tend to draw a crowd when loading up. I drove from Chicago to rochester NH to pick up my buddy when his CB 750 broke down. It was me and him(I'm 230-240 and he is more) Plus the bike and his gear, my gear, Enough fuel for the round trip. the drivers side was bottomed out in the rear. But that little truck just chugged along up to 65mph once we got over the hump. I towed another rabbit home about 80 miles with a bike in the bed as well plus the same 2 guys. Its a great truck except for the interior room and it runs out of capacity some times. Thats why i'm in the process of locating a CTD supplement. Then i will have a CTD with rabbit supplement. I'll try and get some pics on.
