Engine shut off plunger?

My fuel plunger has bit the dust...I really don't want to go to a pull cable just yet. Does anyone have some pic's of how to get to the plunger, or a link to an already posted thread? I'm not to thrilled with just winging it!

Also with this thing having bit the dust...can this cause fuel to leak from the pump?

Thanks, Tony

If you have a stock lift pump, the stock plunger will work. If you put a piston lift pump on the truck, it will eat plungers like candy. Trust me, I know.

Mine's been good for over 2 years now - after reshaping the tip.

Hmmmm, I'm having terrible luck, even reshaping as prescribed in the sticky. Getting tired of the 5th gear dump, and don't want a pull cable.

Thanks guys. I looked at that thread the other day but my computer didn't bring up any pic's! I don't know why but it does that sometimes. It brought the pic's up tonight.

The plunger shown in the images of that thread lasted about two years before it started not being able to pull in (no fuel, wouldn't start). It turns out the barrel of the plunger was at some point in time dragging against its side in the solenoid housing (found definite skid marks).
Replacing it recently with a new, reshaped from the start plunger has all working as expected (maxed IP, DDP4 injectors, Walbro 392 regulated to 18psig at the IP, 3/8" ID fuel supply from fuel pick-up in tank to IP and back).

why not just set the brake and open the hood and shut it off if the plunger is bad, untill you fix it?
