engine plate nv4500 vs. getrag
I been reading up on here and was not able to find in prior posts how to tell the difference between the engine adapter plate for the gen2 12V nv4500 bellhousing and my Gen1 getrag bellhousing visually. I have to purchase the Nv4500 adapter plate and don't want to buy another Getrag plate by mistake. Can anyone help with obvious visual clues the tell one from another as Craigslisters will say anything to make the sale.

The 2nd gen NV-4500 adapter plate is about twice as thick as the 1st gen getrag adapter plates.
I have a NV-4500 adapter plate, I would sell if you need one.
If you like, you can PM me.

The starter is on the drivers side of the block on both...
I can tell a 1st gen from a 2nd gen adapter plate from 15 feet out, due do the thickness difference in the plate itself.
Easy to do.
You will need a 2nd gen starter as well to deal with the thicker adapter plate.

MrFusion,
I figured you had just started the weekend early, or where getting into the yellow paint again.
I also saw the post was a 1 AM.
Having the starter under the turbo, heat exchanger and taking up much needed down pipe space, would be a bad set up.

Yeah that Valspar Equipment yellow DOES make me a little silly. Doesn't spray worth a squat below 20 degrees tho. Doesn't dry real well either.
I usually work 2nd shift. That's why I tend to post in the wee hours.
Laphroaig may have been a bit of a factor as well.
Either way I definitely had a case of cranial flatulence!
