yo grim, gremlins are back, how bright the light gets, will be your next focus, when the relay comes on, the circuit is getting load from the relay, usually the light will come on dimmer than a shorted circuit, unless something like your grid heater is trying to engage, go for the brightet circuit test wire, and with the light on, start disconnecting each load component of the circuit, looking at the schematic, till your test light dimms or go's out. that will locate the area of the short.

looking at my schematic, shows the black wires going to the heater, is this right? it dosent show a white stripe, they will be the bigger wires. disconnect the wiper, see if it goes off, is the blue also to the asd? if so, disconnect that, and try each of the fuses again.

Wow.. I didn't notice where that wire was going in the video until now, can you take a photo of that solenoid that you point to in the end of the video? I haven't been around these trucks for a few years now, that was added to the truck right, its not a factory item is it?

Is that the solenoid you hot wire to get the gages to work , if so which terminal on the solenoid do you put the power on?

Which side of the fuse is the battery side, the end that goes to the solenoid or the end that goes toward the fire wall?

I am trying to understand that solenoid, where it gets its power from, and how it turns on. When the fuse is blown out which terminals on the solenoid have power? does the little signal terminal have power?

sorry for all the questions.

i dont know if i fixed the problem or it just went away again.

i soldered in a new fuse holder, was doing some tests. i was sick of blowing fuses, so i got a 20 amp breaker, so i could just reset it. tried the breaker, and it didnt blow so i threw a fuse in and it held. been driving since with no problems. hopefully it was the new fuse holder, that fixed it.

buuut what i dont get is why would my wiper relay buzz when that black/white wire is connected? my wipers work, but unplugging the relay caused the test light to go out.

the blue wire also caused the test light to light up.

im assuming that solenoid is an addon.

i dont hot wire anything to get my guages to work.

the battery side of the fuse is the solenoid side. theres a wire going from the batt to the solenoid. then this fuse is connected to the same side of the solenoid as that battery wire.
