Electrical Problems- Getting Worse
As everyone probably knows Dodge was not a leader in vehicle electronics. I've heard many say, I bought a cummins, it just happened to come in a Dodge.
Anyways, to get to my question, my electrical issues are starting to annoy me. Are any of my symptoms related..or are they each a seperate issue. If they are related, where do I start?
1) "Wait to start" buzzer only works about 70% of time. Light always goes on and off, but buzzer noise comes and goes.
2) Cruise control works 50% of time. Start the truck, head to town for milk and cookies, cruise works fine, jump in the truck start heading home, no cruise at all.
3) Horn works 10% of time.
4) Front speakers work 0% of time.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

The leading causes of electrical problems are:
1] poor grounds
2] faulty/corroded connections/connectors including battery cables
3] inadequate voltage
1 & 2 can work together to cause 3. All these problems may be much more frequent and extreme in areas with severe weather. They're the first things to check before rolling up your sleeves to jump into serious troubleshooting.

Horn and cruise sound like they could be a flaky clockspring. The speaker wires are probably broken where they go between the door and the cab. I didn't know there was a buzzer either. Thank God somebody saved me the trouble of finding it and ripping it out, I hate stuff like that!

the truck i am selling (hopefully tomorrow) had blinker buzzers in it . but like my brother said, you bought it from an old guy, at least he was being proactive and new he was leaving his blinker on. but man that thing is ANNOYING! is the buzzer the same as the door buzzer or different? i've never heard of one for the light itself.

wait to start buzzer
I don't think it is a buzzer per se, but when I turn on the key in cold weather, there is a noticable buzz or hum which I always figured was the manifold heaters doing what they are supposed to do. Do I have a new thing to fix now?

I'm almost certain is was a buzzer. It sounds very similar to the door buzzer only a slightly higher pitched sound. I think the seat belt light has a buzzer too.
Wanna - where does a guy find the clockspring? And is there a voltage across it I can check or something?
Thanks

Yea. Mine has 2 buzzers that go off. One stays on for a few seconds, and stops by itself. But, it does this in warm weather too.
While on electrical issues, how much trouble to change out a LH window regulator from power to manual? A fairly large cigar outlasts the power ones.

Clockspring is a dealer item. I think the easiest way to diagnose it would be to push the horn button while moving the steering wheel lock to lock. Might want to unplug the horn and rig a test light for that.
