electrical problems
I had a problem shutting off the truck. I have to pull the wire off of the solenoid. Now, I have no power to the gauges or starter circuit when I turn the key on. I have changed the ignition switch and checked the fuses. Maybe a link, but I don't know which one provides the power for all of this. Any help would be Greatly Appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

I think pink and red links are feeds to the ign switch. There might be more. There is a 1991.5 diagram in the sticky. Some stuff should be the same.
As far as shutting it off by pulling the solenoid wire, I would check the ign switch connector and harness for melted stuff.
Good to see another Nor-Cal First Genner here.

Hi,
Thanks for the info. I have checked the switch bundle, and it looks good. I am going to pull the firewall connector today and check there to see where I have power. I have the manuals, but I can't see where it tells colors on those darn fusible links.
I am in Susanville, and I get down to Redding a lot. Used to live in Shingletown.
Thanks again,
Mike

When my wire to the fuel solenoid went dead I tied the FS to my marker lights relay which I run full time. It also provides a bit of antitheft since you can hotwire my ignition and spin the engine with lotsa noise and no start.

Hi All,
It turned out to be the red fusable link broken inside the splice where all the links come off the battery wire. Works great now.
