I wouldn't call that normal...

A stock truck usually peaks out around 900 degrees. Highway cruise will be between 650 and 750 depending on speed, wind, load, etc.

Anything under 1200 is safe indefinitely, above that you need to be quick about it because bad things happen fast.

My truck will pin the 1600 degree pyro before 4th gear is wound out. I do NOT suggest that this is normal or healthy behavior.

With stock timing and stock injectors 1400 has been my max.

Just running down the road empty at 65-70, mine run 800-900, put the fully loaded trailer behind me and they go to 1000-1100...peak I have seen so far was 1250 and that scared me enough to get out of the throttle quick..

Adam, it's hard to say exactly because just about every IP is different when it comes to bottoming it out to just before runaway.

93 with mods in my sig won't go over 1000 with the pedal to the floor,

from a dead stop, no traction and shiftin' at like 3500 max is still 1000...

i got the gauge ground right to the battery, and probe is on the rear 3 cylinders.

I have seen 1000-1100 pulling my 23ft wakeboard boat, and that is after the turbo so I figure it was somewhere between 1300-1400 before the turbo based on what I have heard here.
