easy question about IP manual shutdown.

if you have a manual kill cable and you pull it and hold it open (in shutdown mode) while trying to crank it to start it....what will happen??.....just wonderin it didnt happen to us but i dont really know what the lever does in the pump so an explanation would be nice.

The engine will crank (electric starter) but not run (no fuel).

I do that often when building oil pressure to a relatively dry engine, setting valve lash, etc.

No big whoop.
