Dynomite Diesel injectors and which Turbo??

I am wanting to hit the 400 RWHP mark with #2. Truck is 4wd with getrag and motor is stock and intercooled. I will be mostly driving and towing, want to be able to pull a sled a couple times during the year and the fairs

My reciepe so far is.

Dynomite diesel 80HP injectors
3200 spring
BD diesel Fuel pin

Now which turbo ??? I called Hightech turbo today and the guy I talked to said an HTPG57. Said it had a 57mm comp wheel and 65mm exhaust, stainless steel would run $1605.00

I am seeing the guys like the HTB2 on this board.

What Turbo should I use ?
Any other suggestions would help.

Sig is up in the next post!!

I'd go with the HX40 for a single but its not the best for towing.

Best all around for great towing responce and play would be a compound setup.

Do the HTB2, or a 62/12 to make it easier. Same that I have on mine and its right at 400. as for the Stage 4's from DDP, get them to open them up a bit more.

You need bigger than 80 hp injectors.
Try a PDR or Denny T fuel pin instead.
They suggested a 57/65? That's a meltdown waiting to happen.
62/65/12 minimum.
64/71/14 maximum.

Be carefull with the stainless housing. I really like the people at HTT, but there have been quite a few that have had a problem with the 13cm SS housing.

You'll have to upgrade the lift pump as well....you can get new Era 435's for injectors instead of DDP4's, or you can ask the guys at Dynomite Diesel to make yours flow more than stock DDP4s. Mine are 10% over stock and they still drive fine. Water/meth is a good way of "cheating" to help you make 400hp, you can get 50-80hp out of water meth easy. I agree on a turbo that is at least 62mm. You can get a 14mm pump head from KTA-Cummins for $500 that will give you enough fuel for 600hp also.

S300 62/71/14, for a happy tow rig. S300 64/71/14 for an unhappy tow rig with good wind for the pulls. Some guys get along great with the 64 in a tow rig but I've heard alot of complaints about them being surgy. The 62 and some W/M sould be my suggestion as well as a set of NEW ERA 435's http://www.neweradiesel.com/

Not sure I'd be using any 71's on a heavy towing setup. Not unless you like keeping the RPM's up there. 14K is pretty heavy and with 400HP, that's going to be an interesting setup to try and keep cool EGT and more importantly Engine temp wise.

Dynomite can open them up. You just have to decide how much smoke you want.

HTT has really been pushing their stainless stuff lately. And a 57/65/13cm? That sounds silly with the injectors that you want to run...get one with the 62mm compressor...at least its what I want!

The DDP's stage 4 100hp injectors which PDR sells is $749 And it looks like you have to pay an additional $400 for core. Or are these rebuilt and you get $400 back (for a total of $349) once you return core.

http://www.pdrdiesel.com/products/91...s-859-126.html

DDp's 80 hp injectors from the Dynomite Diesel web site are $749 and brand new with no core charge.
http://www.dynomitediesel.com/display_part/248.php

Also I see DDP,s are honed where as the new ERAs are EDM'ed. Which are better?

Why the large price difference in the DDP's ?

How much HP are the New era 435's ?

After some more research and looking at post , I have decided to go with a

S300 62/65/14 turbo from PDR
Fuel pin from PDR
3200 gov spring from PDR
ASA filter from PDR

And either New ERA 435's which are 5x.014 = .000769 (twice as large as stock)

Or

A set of New era customs , but I dont think I would need them to get 400HP.
Again truck will be used Mostly street, some Tow, and a little local fair sled pulling.

Thoughts please, before I dump the $.

Thanks for all who have posted to help.
