Driveshaft measurement on 4x4, and/or pics
How long(approx) is the rear driveshaft on a 4wd? Is it one piece or two? Trying to find something close that will work on my short bed(about 60"). I can't use a carrier bearing. I have the yoke on the 727 just like the rearend. Need something with slip in the middle. Any pics would be helpful.

Mine measures 53 1/2 full in to 57 1/2 shaft extended till spline is against seal.
Thats off my wrecked 91 driveshaft is out so could measure full movement of it.There is a 91 short box set up like yours listed on autotrader.com at a dodge dealer in Georgia Might be able to get some info if they would get you in touch with the former owner.

frmll300, I see that was a 518 truck. I wonder if a getrag truck would have a longer driveshaft. I took the front section of the 2 piece ds from my 2wd reg cab donor truck and the female splined section that connects to the rear driveshaft (this combo is about 48"). this would work if it were long enough(bolts to both the trans and rearend and still has splined section for movement), but it's about a foot too short. Anyone have a 5 spd 4x they can check?

Funny you should ask.
For my 1993 W250 (4x4) ClubCab with the 149" wheelbase (8' bed) ~
It's a two-piece affair with a support bearing.
The forward most section ~
And the aft section ~
Hope this helps.

Looks like the stub shaft comes out of the carrier bearing and the extra 15" front piece was just to allow for the extra length of the club cab. Single piece shaft would have been a bit too long at that point.
