Double Cardon issue

Anyone ever dealt with these buggers? Couldn't find any external snap ring on the inside, but there's these little plastic nubs that look like they're holding up the caps when I take it to pound town. Didn't get too rad with it, but nothing wanted to move.

I remember them...They're held in by injected plastic into a groove (I cant' remember what kind, but really hardens)...I used a 25 ton press to break them loose...The replacements used clips...That's all I remember about them......Ben

Sheesh, okay. Gonna try welding a stud to the cap tomorrow, maybe that'll loosen the plastic.
Thank you

Put a propane, mapp, or acetylene torch on it. the plastic expands out the holes like worms. Press out the cups as usual.

Yup. Heat draws that plastic crud out. Then remove u-joints like any other style. Profuse beating tends to ruin other stuff.

Yeah put the oxy/Mapp combo on it and they melted right out. New ones are in, without incident. Now back to preparing the underside of the truck for the sparkly clean transmission to go back in.
