Door cure??
I have been having an occasional problem with my passenger door. It gets stuck and wont open for a period of time and i dont ever know when it is gonna do it or when it will function again. I have looked in the sticky and i didnt see a title that was my problem. Maybe I missed it. Am I the only one having this problem?? If not how do I fix it?? Its getting really annoying and I already get flack from the wife about how much of a beater my 91 is, it doesnt help when she has to slide across the seat to get out. lol Good thing I didnt marry a big girl.

I have taken apart the doors and tailgate on my truck and cleaned / repaired the latches, handles and linkages. My doors were not having an issue but I was having this issue with the tail gate. It would not open half the time. What I found to be the issue is bent rods. Not sure how my tailgate rods got bent, but I straightened it out, put some white lithium grease on everything and it works great. My guess on your doors would be that something is worn out, or if some one perhaps put too much pressure on a handle or lock and the rod is bent not allowing for enough travel to disengage the latch. Pop your door panel off and take a peek in there. Might just be simple. Beware, the plastic clips that hold the rods in the arms like to break when you take them off. Good luck!

My door was sticking intermittently and it was driving me crazy so I finally decided to fix the problem thinking the latch must be problem but what I found was ridiculously easy,
The screw loosened up on the door panel and was blocking the latch from opening.
So before you tear your doors apart check out all of the trim pieces and screws around the door handle.
But if that was not your problem, here are a couple views of what your door latch looks like, of course yours is going to be quite a bit dirtier than mine.
And here is another view.
Here you can take a self-guided tour of the inside of my passenger door.

I took my latch apart many times thinking it was something in the latching mechanisms and it wasnt.
It ended up being the metal rod that controls the door latch binding up in there on something (i dont remember exactly what it was hitting) but at that time i also removed all the plastic clips and took the metal rod and put it in where the plastic clips were at and bent it around the hole and havent had a problem since with it.
Not saying its your problem but just pull your door panel off and make sure the metal rods are not hitting on anything for lock and unlock
