dont want my K&N no more
Ok, I know this has been beat to death but I tried the search and couldn't find my info. After reading some posts about K&N I dont thinK I will continue to use it... I have it set up as an open element at the end of my intake hose. how durable are the stock filters against the little bit of water that might get on it due to the hood/fender gap?? also I would like to just snag a 45 elbow and a section of pipe with a filter on the end.. somebody had posted an intake parts site but I can no longer find it... thanks for the help

BHAF is the way to go, ill be ditching my stock K&N when I get the money, not sure if I am going with the ole smokey mount or a snorkle set up yet though.
Hope I was helpful!!

I agree.. I went the airflo way...
I got my intake tubing from them, the clamps to hold it all together and the 45 degree rubber hoses.. and it all just pretty much bolted right up.
here is a pic of it together

i got the parts to make my BHAF from the link above expect for the filter it's self. as far as how well they hold up to water i can not answer that. It has not rained since i installed it. but with the old smoky mount i can't see how water could get to it.

My dads afe air filter for his 05 that came with the aftermarket air box. came with this plastic covering that fits tightly over the air filter, water cant get through it but air can. All you need is one of them coverings.
BRUISER, how much did all that cost? the filter, pipe, and two 45's, NOT including the sheetmetal to do it.

$7.40 for 1 foot tube
$15.02 x 2= 30.04 for 2 45 degree tubes
$5.11 x 5= 25.55 for 5 T-clamps
$40.00 for air filter
metal was free ( I have A LOT of extra metal in the garage )
so that total would be = 102.99
man that seems higher then i remember.. but those prices are what i just got off airflo website, so that may be correct
here is my build of mount
