Cool story.
Would have been nice to see pictures of the restoration.

Can't wait to see pictures! It would be a miracle if this truck convinced companies to make parts for these trucks. I never see them on the road or the junk yard, instead all over farms in mint condition from the 70's and on.

I don't know how hard it would have been to find, as Chrysler still had it. Jack Rousch's (yeah, the NASCAR Ford racer guy) shop put that truck together for them.

They had a spot about it during pre-race several years ago, must have been one of the races Dodge sponsored.
And I'm pretty sure it was solid red, not red and white.

I think I remember this truck being driven around on Shade Tree Mechanic several years ago. It pretty cool but I think it would have been pretty neat to keep it original and have it driven to shows.

It was at the Cummins plant in Columbus for the TDR Rally. They had pictures of it before and during the resto. They're still looking for "Prospector" badges to complete the restoration. The engineers that built it were there and discussed the process of mating the CTD to the D350.
It was sitting in a lot at Chrysler collecting rust and detritis before someone decided to bring her back to life. They said it sat for 5 years before they put in a new battery and she fired right up.
