What bolts are you referring to? The axle flange bolts?

Depends on which year truck the Dana 70 is on or came out of. The 35-splined Dana 70s (up to '91) use studs, torqued to 70ft. lbs. The 32-splined Dana 70s use bolts ('91.5 and up), torqued to 85-95ft. lbs.

There may be some confusion on the proper value for the flange bolts as some FSMs have adifferent value in the written part compared to the value at the end of the section.
I would agree with 70 FT LBS, not newton meters. I misread my 93 FSM and tried torqing to 95 FT LBS (not newton meters) and started snapping them off until I figured things out. It makes sense too- the wheel studs are 95 FT LBS and a 1/2-20 thread, while the axle flange bolts are smaller diameter.
