Custom intake "between the fuel lines"

Ok ive been wondering lately if it is worth it to make another custom intake horn type deal, similar to the banks set up? im wondering if it would make a big difference or if it would turn into a major hassel to try and make a custom intake to go along with my intercooler set up i mean would it really make that much difference if i had an intake that was all the way between the injector lines? i know Soggy one of the guys on here made one and i was just wondering if you guys thought it would be a big difference? i have the 3 inch crossover right now and am going to be either reusing it or making it better what do you guys think? thanks

I've been wanting to make one similar to the one you mentioned, but instead make it to where two grid heater's would sit in there and then "y" the intake pipe to fee the 2 separate intakes. That way I can keep my grid heaters, but have a larger more spread out air feed.

I've thought of doing the same thing too. Too many projects and not enough time to mess with something that's not broken.

Why not relocate the grid heater off the motor and onto the intake horn with a double flange.

If you did that you could have a much smoother transition from the grid heater to the manifold. Last time I looked there is a 8" by 3" area between the injector lines to work with.

Ive been on this project for about 2 months now. Ive got a model of it in machining software that might work. Ive made a few trying to find the right angle and position of the intake horns.

I should have one done pretty soon.......

excellent i was thinking about makking my own banks type set up with a dual runner. i dont run the grid heater i deleted it but i wonder if i could get some pipe and make it work but i wonder if it will make more power that is the debate a lot of work for a little power ?

I will go ahead and say it.............theres very little power to be had with this setup.

All that it achieves is a better distribution of air to all the cylinders. From what research Ive done it would be effective in a high HP setting with high boost and high EGTs. It is proven however to lower EGTS and thats always a good thing.

Not much for power but the cool factor is almost off the charts

the factory non intercooled injectors lines will not allow a banks style twin ram but you could make something bigger than stock.

i have my ideas.
