cruise control......out of control!
My cruise control has always worked great. Not long ago, I installed a modified fuel pin and also did the potentiometer upgrade for the TPS. After doing these mods, the cruise control now accelerates out of control on its own. Here's the scenerio......... I'm cruisng at 60mph, flip on the cruise control...... 60......65.......70.......75........yikes!!! Yup, it accelerates out of control on its own. I no longer have been using it due to this issue. What could cause this? Has any of the mods mentioned affected the cruise control? In the meantime I plan to troubleshoot.

You've got the pot adjusted too far to the wrong side....
Mine did the same when
I first got it installed....
Turn it the opposite way you've been turning it. You'll find a point when the CC stops running away. At that point the OD will kick in REAL quick - like almost as soon as you hit 3rd. keep turning it until it kicks in where you want.
TURN THE POT VERY VERY LITTLE.
At this point the pot is very sensitive to small movements....

Ah ha!!! Thanks guys! I wouldn't have known that the "pot" affects the cruise control. I think someone asked about this a while back. I will mess with the adjustment.

Each time I tried to do it that way, it doesn't work right. So, thats why I switch the outside wires. It tends to give you the correct adjustibility with pot. Sometimes when making your own kit, it's easily to get the wires mixed up.

DNRCustoms, from what you say it sounds like you have a volume control pot instead of a linear pot. The difference is that the linear plot is just that, whereas the volume control pot ( if memory serves me correctly ) the first 35 to 50%me, controls more than the last 50%.
