Crooked steering wheel fix...

Wheel was spun 90* to the left when I bought the truck.
I've looked over all the linkage and can't find anything wrong, any ideas?
I have one that may or may not work (or may be totally dumb) I thought that maybe the previous owner ran into something hard enough to push the axle back on the leaf, which would in turn cause the wheel trouble. is this possible?

remove cover on steering wheel, pull nut off of said steering wheel, pull steering wheel, put it back on the desired splines.

can these power steering boxes, which have a lot of play in them, be tightened up by the screw on the top of the gear?

I had an old manual steering cuda from the 60's that had it, and I loosened the locknut, tightened the flat head screw in it, then locked it down.

Wondering if these PS units are the same.

Turning the steering wheel does not do the signal cancel much good. Its alway turning off your blinker.

Yes you can, just loosen the locknut and tighten the allen head on top of the gear box til you have about 1" of play, then tighten the locknut back down. Its also in the sticky. I did mine and it helped for about a week then it went soft again.

Mines just off from hittin way too many pivot tracks on the farm before I had it. I'll fix it someday when I put new steering shaft and box in. My blinkers seem to cancel early sometimes now that I think about it, doesn'te bother me much though.

I will try it tomorrow, my blinkers cancel all the time with the crooked streeing wheel anyway. I have a tach and tranny temp gauge mounted down low and with the steering wheel the way it is now I have to get my head near the seat to see them

My wheel is the same way, before you pull the wheel, turn on your blinkers and see how far you have to turn the wheel each way to get them to cancel. if its the same from center to get them to cancel left and right, then the wheel is centered, and your problem is farther down the line.

I used the splines at the steering box when I did the borgenson shaft.

Nice and strait now.

when adjusting the steering box be SURE it is centered straight ahead. the clearance increases as one turns the wheel. if not centered it will be too tight or lockup
