That would be one heck of a drive for you! Even me but I'm in as long as we can go fishing!

The drive is the best part! I look at my truck and dream about the next cross country trip. We've been on 4 now.

Love that RC, can't wait. I wish I had time to work on my dodges, a 4 month old son and working full time is hard bolts.

Hey Brian,

Thanks for catching us up on your projects. It looks like you have had a busy, but good summer! I hope you and your family are enjoying the new place. It looks really good.

New skid-steer, new car trailer, a long driveway and privacy: you're living the dream!

About your new work truck, though, is that an "eh-B train" ?

Seriously though, big congratulations on getting settled up there.

Yeah new babies sure consume a lot of your spare time. Might try and get the RC converted next year...have to see how life goes.

Thanks....couldn't be happier up here. Have been here about 4 months now and have not seen or barely heard a neighbour. Waved at a few people walking dogs, but that's it.

Since we have been having some warmer weather, Last night I decided I would install my winch bumper.

Here it is when I just slid it into place.

There is about 9" between the grille and the front of the bumper. Which was not a good number for me.....my 12K warn winch needs at least 11". Plus I did not like the look of all that open space between the front of the truck and the bumper.

Then there was the mounting points....only one hole lined up. The guy who made the bumper for me said he had built one of these for a 1st gen so the mounts would be ready to go.....well they didn't work.

I thought perhaps earlier, pre-89 bumper brackets might work, so I grabbed a spare set and tried those....nope no worky either.

So after staring at the bumper for some time I finally came to a decision.

I decided I was not going to be able to make it work with my winch, so I may as well modify it to just be a bush bumper.

Looking at things and measuring lots I figured if I took 2" off the mounts I would end up with 3 bolt holes lining up....still need to drill for the last 2 on each side.

Then using that 2" measurement I measured from the grill, and from the lower portion of my PS IC and made the marks for what needed to be trimmed.

After a bunch of cutting, grinding and massaging I got it all lined up the way I wanted it.

Think it turned out pretty good. Sucks that I can't have my winch mounted in there....but would rather have a strong front bumper just in case I make contact with a deer or other animal.

That looks good and should keep a deer from doing much if any damage.

My PS hose from the pump up to my HB has been leaking through the hose itself for a couple weeks now, made quite the mess...or just rust proofing engine bay and undercarriage...

Called locally for the hose and they wanted close to a $100 for it, so went and ordered one from Rockauto for $30.....got the replacement hose today. Since I used 2nd Gen hoses for my HB install it was an easy order.

Only difference was the size of the nut into the back of the PS reservoir. OEM 2nd Gen was 18mm, new hose has a 16mm nut. Other then that quick and straight forward re/re.

And I have been considering changing out the 2nd Gen front seats in the crewcab. Well the other day I got these for FREE!

They are out of a 2004 Ram, power drivers side seat with lumbar support...drivers foam and cover are toast, and the console top/arm rest has a couple cracks, but considering what the junkyards want for a OK set I can't complain.

Been pricing out a new seat foam, cover and a new cover for the console. For about $250 I can have a nice set-up....way less then what I would have had to pay at the JY.
