CPL badge fell off?!?
I was tinkering yesterday, wiping off some more oil from the engine and I noticed that my badge was gone!?! You know the one with the serial # and cpl# and all that other info.
Now I'm gonna have fun getting parts from this cummins dealer- he doesnt want the CPL # he wants the serial #, every time I order something(you would think he would just save it in the computer like everone else)
Anyway thanks for letting me and just wondering if anyone else had this happen to them?
Michael

LOL, my block/head are out of a 94 auto, the front cover and pump are a 96 man, and somehow I still ended up with a 1st gen thermostat. The fuel filter, who knows, I had to cross referance the old one to find it. Oh and the frame's a 90, the body is a 86, the dash is a 93 (well that's gone now but was) and the nose is a 93. I LOVE finding parts

Same here. My original motor, the owner painted over the tag to make it look pretty. I guess he never ordered parts for it. I tried cleaning it but it was too late. My modified motor, the tag was a little loose one day. Then next month I happened to look and it was almost off the motor. I have since taken it off and sitting on my desk.
Mine is a 92 with auto.
Engine # 56122837
CPL # 1579
Hope that helps.

Dunno if you guys are a member of the OTHER site. But in this period's issue on pg 44 it gives a breakdown of the CPL's for each truck. there's only 3 for the first gen's.
89-91 non intercooled CPL is 804.
91.5-93 intercooled 1351 with the 21mm housing, and 1579 with the 18mm housing and LDA? I dunno what LDA stands for, but maybe you guys do lol.
and as for "if it fits use it" that's my credo, with a slight modification, "If it fits and you can get it cheap, use it" :-) Making twins for it now, and saving up for stud's and O-rings, the HG I put on a year ago isn't holding the 40lbs already. Plus I'm using an Unknown turbo for the bottom end, I've been told it's bigger even than a ht3b so who knows what boost I'll get with it? lol. Scary stuff. I've gotten to the point I can change a head gasket in about 4 hours so no big deal. Prolly need bigger injectors than the 370's to push all that too,,,no cheap way around all that
